An Open Letter To A Geographical Region
Dear California,
In light of the recent ruling of the Supreme Court of the people who live in you, would it be too much trouble to just go ahead and fall off into the ocean?
Sincerely,
The Only Red Shirt

It's very wearying. I heard excerpts from the dissent. Scalia-esque in cutting to the bone.
This ruling may help mobilize Republicans.
Polygamists too.
Polygamists? Really? If Canada's recent allowance of gay marriage is any indicator (wherein a government panel basically said that they can't logically defend one without defending the other), this ruling is their foot in the door.
How awesome would it be for the Dem machine to spend all its resources on trying to swing Ohio and Pennsylvania only to have Commiefornia slip from their grasp? Even without this, I think that McCain, in a fantasy world of unbiased media, could carry the state, given his liberal proclivities.
