Blogworthy Topic Fatigue
I haven't posted in a while, as my loyal reader(s?) may have noticed. This is due to several reasons, not the least of which is that I've been very busy lately as we near the Christmas Holiday break. But the major reason is that, as you may have noticed, I talk alot about political topics, and lately, I have reached a saturation point for thinking about and reading about all things political. This has been brought on in the largest portion by the fact that I still have a HUGE soft spot for Mike Huckabee, and am dismayed that many of my favorite political web-haunts have been attacking him so viciously. In fact, these attacks, almost exclusively coming from the Right, have done virtually nothing to dissuade me from supporting Mike, but have rather pushed me closer to casting my own lot, with him rather than against. I will post more on this later, I hope, particularly regarding his recent "Merry Christmas" ad, which I absolutely love, for completely non-subtextual reasons.
I still hope Fred! surges. I'm still not voting for Romney or Rudy, even in the General Election. I still think McCain is crazy but would vote for him if I had to. I still like Richard Brookhieser's description of Ron Paul supporters as "wicked idiots". But I'm leaning Huck, and it's the Huckabashers' faults. But most of all, I'm tired.

I'm hoping for Fred too.
He's making a last minute cross-Iowa bus trip Maybe if the front runners keep sniping at and weakening one another, Fred still has a chance. I like his message the most.
Mazurland Blog has left Huck alone, though I think he's made a lot of mistakes, and he's not my candidate. At present there is only one Republican whom I'd sit out over if he were the nominee, and there's pretty much no chance of him getting it: RP. There are a couple that I am considering whether I would vote for, but realistically, I think I'd be unhappy with Romney, McCain, or Giuliani, but would swallow hard and vote for them.
Hey, Ben. I hope you're just giving yourself some down time before the real political season heats up. Buck up. Stop your dang whining and do what you do well. Blog. Don't follow the example of that burned out has-been Chris and drop off the face of the Earth.
Just wanted to pop in and let you know you've been missed. Although I think Huckabee is a smooth-talking liberal in Baptist clothing, I will also hide under my covers on election night with a glass/bottle of wine if RP was ever a viable candidate. Yikes. (I'm still hoping for Fred Thompson, even if he took the same charisma courses as John Kerry.)
So we can agree to disagree if you will just keep blogging...
Welcome, Angela! Always nice to see a new commenter 'round here. And if you're not new, I sincerely and humbly apologize for not noticing sooner.
New year, new resolution... so I'll get to blogging more! I honestly meant to do a considerable amount of blogging over the Christmas break (my workplace closes down from Christmas through New Years), but my other hobby got in the way.
Don't feel bad. I'm a (kind of) old lurker, new commenter. My hubby and I love your blog, though, so stick to your resolution. (Please.)
